Importance of Quality Blogging on Web 3.0 - Better Data, Better Internet

Hi there everyone, TheRingMaster is back again with another Web 3.0 based blog. This article is to encourage all Hivers and Web 3.0 users to focus on what really matters in building the Internet.

The Internet is purely about data. The more data the internet has, the bigger it looks but however, if most of what you find there is low quality, it's not exactly going to be a helpful internet would it?

A lot of us if not all of us rely on the Internet for our information and facts. If the Internet passes the wrong information, that means wrong information is learned by the masses. This is what makes the Internet so important in our society. Today's age is heavily influenced by the internet. From the development of Artificial Intelligence to the Metaverse future, it all relies on the Internet and the Internet relies on our very own data.

You can go online through your favorite Web browser and search for anything and what you're actually looking at as search results are just people's data published with an algorithm that suggests the most similar blog based on the search query you passed. If the people that uploaded that data on the Internet did a good job, then you'll be seeing quality and helpful information based on your search, but if the people that uploaded the data don't do a great job, then the Internet would not have been helpful at all to you.

This is what I mean by the internet is simply our data.

Web 3.0 Is Still Growing

Now we are still in the early stages of the new Internet, Web 3.0. I made a blog some days ago about Web 4.0 possibly being an upgrade of Web 3.0 instead of a whole new separate Internet. This means that Web 3.0 has come to stay for a very long time and possibly forever. We certainly do love the Decentralization it brings but what happens if the growth of Web 3.0 is filled with low quality, low effort and not so helpful or exciting blogs, that means we would be building the wrong kind of Internet.

To be honest, it's not exactly up to the investors to make Hive successful, it's actually up to the creators - The Investors invest in potential, always. So if we show them the potential of Hive they will invest if they are convicted.

So the responsibility to make Hive great is solely dependent on us the creators. The more value we create for people, the better Web 3.0 as an internet would be.

Web 3.0 gives us security, ownership of our data and a seemless Blockchain integration that allows us to pair the internet with cryptocurrency very effectively. If we fill such a platform with quality content, it's no doubt it will sweep across the world and completely overtake Web 2.0.

Web 2.0 which brought the social media age and user-generated content was what preceded Web 3.0, the main difference maker here is how Web 3.0 uses blockchain to form decentralized applications (dApps) like Ecency, Inleo, Actifit and DBuzz to list a few as well as safe ways to distribute data among several people or parties involved in a transaction process.

What this means is that we should think differently about what we create online. It shouldn't just be about shareable things but about realism, accuracy and also usefulness.

You can totally Quote TheRingMaster on This One - We Create a Useful Internet when We Create Useful Data

Why Quality Blogging Matters So Much On Web 3.0

I've put together a couple of reasons why I believe quality blogging is so crucial in the success of Web 3.0 and Hive in particularly.

  • Being Genuine and Trustworthy

Web 3.0 demands that one must be truthful and credible in all ways. Let's face it, centralization and abuse of power was the main reason why cryptocurrency, Blockchain and Web 3.0 was developed as a counter.

The main essence of good blogs is to provide readers with dependable information. Information they can rely on to solve problems, have questions answered, assist them, give them facts and knowledge or even just good entertainment.

This is very much applicable to decentralized systems where everything is transparently accessible by everyone. Trusting the data we put out into Web 3.0 will enable people to easily embrace such new technologies.

Most people are not even aware of the concept of Blockchain, they may have heard of cryptocurrency but they're not knowledgeable about the full concept, and people rarely invest time, money and effort into something they're not aware of. This is why we as creators need to build that trust in them by creating quality content that's useful to everyone or the most people possible.

  • Educating and Sharing Information

Good blogs are those which help people become knowledgeable on matters like blockchain or decentralized finance (DeFi). Of course I'm not trying to limit the niche to only educative content but the point I'm making is that as we keep sharing more useful and dependable content on Web 3.0, it will naturally draw more users to the platform and also investors as well.

In simple and understandable language, the quality blogs can communicate these ideas to the general public. This knowledge sharing is essential for more web 3.0 users.

  • Creating a Network of Communities

Web 3.0 is really all about people coming together as a group of friends who share mutual interests. A good blog would allow for open discussion about new technology and ideas, fostering communities where everyone can learn from each other’s experiences. I see this happening very well on Hive with the different communities around. We've got travel community for the travel bloggers, finance community like Inleo for the people interested in crypto and money and so many more niche based communities around.

Of course we also have general communities on Hive and Ecency is my most favorite.

As we keep building those great communities, we'll create virtual homes for more users. Everyone would have a place to belong in Web 3.0 and that will make them stick around for good.

  • Getting Found Online

Search engines are still important in Web 3.0 too. I'm pretty sure you might have heard this before, good blogs use SEO almost always to appear more frequently in searches relating to their subject matter, attracting more readers interested in these subjects, therefore helping to grow the community further.

Hive and Web 3.0 may not be exactly too popular in terms of SEO at the moment but it keeps getting more relevant everyday and this is the point I'm trying to make. We need to really focus a lot on the quality and usefulness of our blogs so we can promote Hive and Web 3.0 through the SEO.

The more people find Hive based blogs through search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo, the more they ask the question "WHAT IS HIVE?"

A good internet can only be made from good data and nothing else. The good data part matters even more in Web 3.0 where everybody is involved. Accurate and original blogs add great value to the digital world. Such quality posts encourage new ways of thinking and make our online interaction much better.

The Challenge

Well the challenge we face in building Web 3.0 is not impossible to fix but also not that easy to handle. Wrong or misleading information and people trying to manipulate content are among the challenges that may arise in building a great Web 3.0 internet. Well I guess that's left for the Witnesses to establish great systems to ensure quality content exists but I for one think that Hive is doing a better job than most Web 3.0 platforms.

However as we keep sharing quality content we will set higher standards for Web 3.0 as it continues developing positively. People will join the platform and will see that every blog they read is a blog that has been well created and will follow suite.

Thank you all for the time taken to read this blog. I would most definitely love to get your feedbacks on this particular topic discussion. Enjoy the weekend and keep sharing the great content.

Would certainly be reaching that very very soon dearest @hivebuzz

This nails it. Every content we make on Hive should bring value to the audience. Being informative would make the reader always come back for more. Accuracy is equally important, thats the only way users would see hive as an authority.

The focus should be on quality rather than quality. So instead of making 3 low quality blogs a day, its better to have just one excellent material like this one.

I admire your effort in making great articles and it remains a lesson for all of us. We can make web3 great being putting it at the pinnacle of reliably, authentic and exclusive source of truth.
