Nice setup, now you'll have to update us with the canning/preservation process. I suspect you'll have more squash in your life than you'll know to do with pretty soon. Our small balcony garden got infested with white flies this year for some reason. Now I have a speedily growing praying mantis out there somewhere (if he didn't get blown away by the tornado). Do you ever get mantids for your garden as a natural form of pest control?

Thanks. We've already started pickling some cucumbers. I don't think I've ever seen a praying mantis in the garden and we haven't bought any. I almost bought some lady bugs a couple of years ago when we had an aphid problem. Mostly we see frogs lol they like to hide in the shade under the big squash leaves. There is usually one around if you take the time to look for it. We had a yellow jacket nest last year under one of the beds that a skunk dug up one night and took care of for us 🙂
