Sometimes we receive a very interesting or striking message by mail or through social media. I like some of these messages and songs, so I thought I would share some of the ones that sparked my curiosity.
Among these videos, I selected one that has a very captivating critical message. It is a social criticism, but it does not fall into boring or heavy points, rather it makes good use of the stage presentation, the music, and lyrics that try to awaken a fiber of struggle, of resistance to what is considered incorrect.

But, due to the way the message reached me, I did not have the reference of its origin or its exact date. So I put my hands to the keyboard and began to track down this data in all the ways that occurred to me.
The effort paid off. I found that it was a Comparsa work, performed in Cadiz, during the 2012 carnival. The comparsa member in charge of this work was Constantino Tovar Verdejo, known by his stage name as "Tino Tovar".
I searched a little about this person, and I liked a presentation that was made on a website specialized in the subject of this carnival in Spain (own translation):

Constantino Tovar Verdejo, or better known in the world of the Cadiz Carnival as Tino Tovar, maintains this idyll in the world of the comparsa between the sword and the silk, being one of the most followed authors of the party.

I must say that I shared the video, because despite 13 years having passed, its message seems quite current to me. This is a quality of works, speeches, songs or any work of art, which marks its transcendence. Time is the hardest judge, if a work manages to awaken a feeling or a passion, even decades after being created, then it is a good work.
Also, I liked the theme of protest, but without falling into whiny dramas. It made me remember other videos that are often shared on this subject. Perhaps one of the first that comes to my mind on this subject is that of the Mexican comedian Cantinflas, the final speech of “His Excellency” (a comedy where thorny issues are not shied away from), where he makes a very strong political and social criticism (and unfortunately still current).
For friends who do not understand Spanish, I left a translation of the lyrics of the song at the end of the post. And it is time to publish and say goodbye for today. I hope you are well and that we can meet again another time.

En ocasiones nos llegan por correo o por mensajería de redes algún mensaje muy interesante o llamativo. Me agradan algunos de estos mensajes y canciones, así que pensé en ir compartiendo algunos de los que despertaron mi curiosidad.
Entre estos vídeos, seleccioné uno que tiene un mensaje de crítica muy interesante. Se trata de una crítica social, pero no cae en puntos aburridos ni pesados, más bien hace un buen uso de la presentación en escena, de la música, y de una letra que intenta despertar una fibra de lucha, de resistencia ante lo que se considera incorrecto.

Debo decir que compartí el video, porque a pesar de haber pasado ya 13 años, su mensaje me parece bastante vigente. Esto es una cualidad de las obras, discursos, canciones o cualquier obra de arte, que marca su trascendencia. Es el tiempo el más duro juez, si una obra logra despertar un sentimiento o una pasión, incluso décadas después de ser creada, entonces es una buena obra.
Además, su temática de protesta, pero sin caer en dramatismos quejicosos, me ha gustado. Me hizo recordar otros videos que se suelen compartir al respecto. Puede que uno de los que primero viene a mi mente en este tema es el del comediante mexicano Cantinflas, el discurso de “Su Excelencia” (una comedia donde no se rehúyen los temas espinosos), en donde hace una crítica política y social muy fuerte (y por desgracia aún vigente).
Para los amigos que no entienden español, dejé una traducción de la letra de la canción al final del post. Y ya es hora de publicar y que me despida por hoy. Te deseo que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
