Golden advice. We should not store our valuables (crypto) in places we don't own and control the keys. However, I must admit that I'm still keeping some on Binance (less than $1k though). Having your own hardware wallet is a good move. Kudos to you for knowing how to secure your assets.
Oh dearest I think it's not super super risky keeping it on Binance, to be honest they've got some very good security since they're very huge in the world and theft can hurt their reputation.
