My sister and her husband used to live in an old house in a town on the banks of the Mississippi river in Illinois. It was a huge house and they had a room with lots of built in shelves made of dark wood. That was there library and they spent a lot of time in there. This makes me think of that house.

Wow, it must have been a beautiful house, @bozz! Dark wood gives a cozy and warm atmosphere. So appropriate for a library!

It was pretty cool. It had a back stairway that lead right to the kitchen from what used to be the staff quarters. It was kind of creepy sleeping upstairs during a summer storm, but it was a cool place.
