Government schools are not designed to foster each student's individual strengths, or even really to provide a baseline of knowledge for functioning adults. It's about obedience and conformity above all else. Schooling is not education.

Mainly public schools.
But some don't have the means for private schools.
Homeschooling exists here. Khan Academy is free, and libraries offer ample materials for a well-rounded education. It does take time for a parent, but not as much as you might expect. Families also trade off with classes or activities where they have relevant expertise.

Here in USA people don't have the time. Most parents work 2 jobs to stay afloat.
Turning schools into taxpayer-funded daycares is a sick and twisted solution to our deeper economic problems for sure.
