I see a lot of people who just recreate something that already exists and works well on hive.

I really wonder what that's about at times.

Sort:

Not trying to point fingers or say it's bad. But once there's already 1-2 of something and opensource, etc, it feels like the rest are just gonna attempt to split the already low user base up more for no good reason.

That makes sense. I still think it’s complicated to have so many of the same thing—for example: frontends. How many do we have? More than 8? I think at this point there should be about 3 and that’s it. The more things there are, the more division there is...

As long as the second one is better in some form or features, then I feel like its fine.

As you say, it's to be expected... part of Hive culture it seems.😂

That's because it's easier to recreate something from scratch than to ask for permission, study, and modify third-party code.

I just see a team copying everything that comes out, whether it's Ecency, PeakD, or even the developers of 3Speak themselves. For example, the Snapie app that motivated that team to release their own app (after five years). 👀🥴

Too much devs out there and too little with investor/economic mindset. Therefore Hive is doomed to get bloated up with Dapps and features instead of solid ideas for revenue streams.
