I have been watching anime since I was 8 years old, so it's been a long time I have been a huge fan of it. When I first started watching animes there's was no one from my circle new about it. I have tried to make them watch anime but my friends declined. I used to draw anime characters on paper and later my friends used to take them from me by printing it out in copies. It was a fun and proud moment for me as everyone wanted me to draw anime characters for them. The most asked question was why the eyes are so big like they don't look human but that's how the characters eye looked back in the time haha.
One of my favourite anime was Full metal alchemist and now I'm an adult so my choice has changed. I am now fond of Attack On Titan, Eren Yeager is my favourite character. But if you ask me which character I can resonate with then it's not Eren, it's going to be a character from the manhwa. If you're new to this term then let me explain, it's same as the manga just because it's a Korean series it's called manhwa. So, it's the same thing as manga. There's also manhua which is made in china.
Most of the time I read manhwa and it's been 2 years I have got addicted to it. Korean animations are not that popular but the manhwa's has huge fan base. You will find out once you start looking for it. Anyway, the character I resonate with is Jeongmin Choi from "Dreaming Freedom". As you can see my hive profile picture and my other social media has the same character as profile picture. I have taken interest so much into this character that I cherish it so much.
In the story Jeongmin Choi is bullied by her classmates and one of them is her ex bestfriend Juhyeon Ha who was really close to her once. But their relationship changed as they got into high school. The same thing happened with me, I had a girl bestfriend she tried to control me and my life, she didn't want me to make others my friends and it is the similar character as the best friend of Jeongmin Choi. Juhyeon Ha made false rumors about Jeongmin Choi which caused everyone to see her as lowly and continuously they demeaned her.
Jeongmin Choi at least found a boyfriend who would take care of these bullies for her. As he had super natural powers, on the other hand I never encountered a boyfriend. But I had found a friend who would take stand for me when my bestfriend would speak ill of me as we were in the same classes. These incidents reminds me of my life and I can relate with Jeongmin Choi. We both have suffered because of friendship but in the end we made it out alive. I have cried my eyes out when I was reading it.
Jeongmin Choi is a complicated character yet inspiring, I feel we both are the same. I could feel her emotions throughout the whole story and it was overwhelming but in a good way. There was one kind of healing while reading this manhwa, I realized there's more I need to learn and make myself strong as Jeongmin Choi. I would recommend everyone to read "Dreaming Freedom", it's one of my favorite manhwa. Once you start reading manhwa you will get addicted for sure.
