Un abrazo a todos los amigos y amigas de esta comunidad maravillosa, donde inspiran y respetan a la mujer, a la mujer empoderada, a la mujer que está en la casa, a la mujer que aún no ha crecido, que es una niña, a la mujer embarazada que trae un fruto en su vientre.
Hoy quiero hablarles de una amiga. La descubrí entre libros por allá por el año 1997 o 1998 cuando yo visitaba mucho la biblioteca de nuestra provincia, o sea de Las Tunas y la descubrí entre libros.
La descubrí sentada en una mesa abarrotada de libros. Mi amiga era la bibliotecaria de la sala de literatura en la Biblioteca Provincial José Martí.
Recuerdo que yo siempre buscaba poesías de amor, novelas policíacas, lo que más leí en mi adolescencia y luego, bueno, en mi pronta juventud.
Y un día ella me sugirió los libros y la poesía de Nicolás Guillén. Y cómo yo iba a leer a este hombre cuando acá en la escuela solo nos enseñaban las poesías patrióticas de este gran poeta que además, es el poeta Nacional de Cuba.
Claro que cuando ella me escuchó que yo estaba inocente a que Nicolás Guillén también escribía poesías de amor, enseguida ella me sugirió el libro Todas las flores de abril de este poeta y ahí, descubrí yo a Nicolás Guillén.
Pero fue gracias a esta amiga, esta amiga que hoy por hoy es la luciérnaga de las poetisas tuneras, se llama Luz de la Caridad Maestre Vega, nuestra Lucy, y es una amiga entrañable. Es una poetisa, investigadora, crítica de la literatura, escribe ensayos muy buenos.
Pero además de ser un ser humano excepcional es tauro en el Zodiaco y como cualquier tauro su naturaleza más grande es dar. No es que le moleste recibir, pero el placer mayor de ella es estar, dar su amor, lo que tiene, lo que no tiene lo inventa para ayudar.
Pero da también su literatura en forma de versos, en forma de prosa, también desde la parte pedagógica porque la enseña y adiestra a los jóvenes. Ayuda a crecer a los jóvenes y no solo esto, es una pedagoga que siempre está al lado de quien más la necesita.
Increíblemente uno le pregunta sobre algún tema de literatura y se sienta contigo y con esa sonrisa enorme que la desborda en su rostro, Lucy, Lucy no hace más que enseñar y dar su amor. Y no da su amor solamente con la literatura, también de su mano con una sonrisa.
Lucy trabajo muchos años en la biblioteca, pero luego trabajó en la casa de cultura Tomasa Varona de mi ciudad de Las Tunas,aquí en Cuba y Lucy estuvo muchos años al frente del taller literario municipal El Cucalambé y los jóvenes que estuvieron en ese taller, en esos tiempos hoy por hoy son escritores de 40 y tantos años 30.
Tantos años dedicada a fabricar amor y arte, porque ella supo llevarlos de la mano y llevarlos bien y enseñarle cada herramienta que se necesitaba.
Lucy, sin dudas es una mujer de las letras, pero es una mujer de alma, es una dama y por qué no puede ser también dama de Hive.

A hug to all the friends of this wonderful community, where they inspire and respect women, empowered women, women who stay at home, women who haven't yet grown up, who are girls, pregnant women carrying a child.
Today I want to talk to you about a friend. I discovered her among books back in 1997 or 1998 when I used to visit the library in our province, Las Tunas, and I discovered her among books.
I discovered her sitting at a table piled high with books. My friend was the librarian in the literature room at the José Martí Provincial Library.
I remember always looking for love poems, detective novels, what I read most in my adolescence and later, well, in my early youth.
And one day she suggested the books and poetry of Nicolás Guillén. And how could I possibly read this man when here in school we were only taught the patriotic poems of this great poet, who is also Cuba's National Poet?
Of course, when she heard me say I was unaware that Nicolás Guillén also wrote love poems, she immediately suggested the book Todas las flores de abril by this poet, and that's when I discovered Nicolás Guillén.
But it was thanks to this friend, this friend who is today the firefly of Las Tunas poetesses. Her name is Luz de la Caridad Maestre Vega, our Lucy, and she is a dear friend. She is a poet, researcher, literary critic, and writes very good essays.
But in addition to being an exceptional human being, she is a Taurus in the Zodiac, and like any Taurus, her greatest nature is giving. It's not that she minds receiving, but her greatest pleasure is being there, giving her love, what she has; what she doesn't have, she invents to help.
But she also gives her literature in the form of verse, in the form of prose, and also from a pedagogical perspective because she teaches and trains young people. She helps young people grow, and not only that, she's a teacher who is always there for those who need her most.
Unbelievably, when you ask her about a literary topic, she sits down with you, with that huge smile overflowing on her face. Lucy, Lucy does nothing but teach and give her love. And she doesn't give her love only through literature, but also through her hand, with a smile.
Lucy worked for many years in the library, but then she worked at the Tomasa Varona Cultural Center in my city of Las Tunas, here in Cuba. Lucy spent many years leading the municipal literary workshop El Cucalambé, and the young people who were in that workshop, back then, are now writers in their 40s and 30s.
So many years dedicated to creating love and art, because she knew how to lead them by the hand and manage them well, and to teach them every tool they needed.
Lucy is undoubtedly a woman of letters, but she's also a woman of soul, a lady, and why can't she also be a lady of Hive?
