Greetings dear beauties of Hive. Hope to find you all in good health enjoying the weekend alongside your family and loved 🥰 ones.
Am happy to join in this week beautiful topic of Ladies Of Hive contest as brought to us by our friend @kerisslravenhill .
I have chosen to write ✍️ on the first topic question as presented by our friend.
1️⃣ I annually work on my home budget every January and my recent walk through of a major shopping center reminds me how our financial goals can get undermined by the temptation to spend. What are your strategies and tactics to stay on track?
Staying on budget is really a serious issue especially when there are many things lined up to solve. Sometimes things can get out of hand because of some unforeseen circumstances. But we still have to try to stay on budget.
At the beginning of every year I make sure to take into account the first things that will be needing financial attention. This is where the Law of Economics comes in. “The Scale Of Preference “ This is the Law that enables me to line up and itemize one by one how to channel every money expenditure by budgeting. The Scale Of Preference makes us to understand that some “Needs”are more important than others. These Needs I will budget on and give attention than others. And since I need to stay on budget, I will take into consideration the ones that will be pending until their time comes.
Although the kind of job I do helps determine my savings. As a Realtor business can be good sometimes when one closes a good deal of letting or renting out an apartment to a client and getting my commission that is due to me. This automatically changes my budget for the year as regards to the previous budgeting. But when business is slow but steady, I make sure to keep to my usual Scale Of Preferences. Solving the needs that are most priority.
For example, the children school fees, mortgage, weekly pantry foods and provisions , health savings, maintenance and internet . All these are priorities and needs attention before any other that will fall into miscellaneous expenses especially going grocery and wanting to buy extra things that are not budgeted.
And unless my finances improves from unexpected earnings or my family which can make me have extra treat for the family, like visiting the park, going to the beach 🏖 or taking a trip, I will always prioritize the first things first. This has helped me through so many years now. Solving the most important Needs first helps my budgeting tactics
Thank you Ladies for stopping and reading. Wishing you all a beautiful weekend full of rest. Lots of love 💕.
