I will like to participate in this week Ladies Of Hive contest on how I heard about hive and what made me join. Prior to the time I joined Hive, I was looking for a remote job that I can combine with my work. I needed more money to serve as a backup for my salary. I was discussing with a friend of mine who told me that his relative is earning big on hive. I asked him what I will be doing to be earning on Hive too and he explained that all that is required is to post meaningful contents and I get to earn in dollars. That sounds good!. I know I was not that good in writing, I prefer calculations but because money is involved, I told him that I am willing.
He introduced me to @vickoly who onboarded me and taught me some of the things I know today apart from what I learnt from my friend. Writing was challenging at first but I got to like it as I was getting comments and votes on my post.
Just like he said I made money. Last year May, I wanted to buy a laptop and the money on me was not enough and I had to quickly withdraw from my Hive wallet to complete the payment. Likewise, I needed to travel to Abuja for a paper presentation at the Economics Conference, I was short of transportation fare, it was the money in my wallet that saved me.
Joining Hive made me overcome a major weakness which is writing. I am happy anytime I'm able to create a post, it's always like overcoming a big challenge. Hive has enhanced my critical thinking ability which I do not take for granted.
More than money, is the opportunity to connect to people, most times sharing my stories on hive and receiving votes and comments makes me feel loved, appreciated and "not alone". The community is more like a global family to me. Reading other people's post, most times serve as comfort or answer to questions on my mind.
Hive is more than making money which is the major reason i joined. It has given me an online family. Thanks for stopping by.
