Hi beautiful ladies of hive community! I'm excited to share with you today this particular friut that i salivate for and how cool it makes me feel.
I have always loved fruits, but there’s something about pawpaw that feels different to me. Its attractive colour, the soft texture, and the way it melts in the mouth gives me a kind of joy. Pawpaw has been a loyal friend to my taste buds for years, and my small garden is my little treasure chest where I grow it with care.
One sunny afternoon, I decided to stroll into my garden, as I often do, to check on the plants. To my delight, I spotted something beautiful, about four pawpaws hanging heavily on their stalks, glowing with that rich yellow-orange colour that only comes when they are perfectly ripe. I was happy I had something to feed my tasty tongue with. There’s a special kind of excitement that comes with harvesting your own fruit; it’s like receiving a gift from nature herself.
I picked the ripest one first, the skin warm from the sun. I washed it and pilled it ,sliced it open, and cut it in smaller pieces. I scooped out the black seeds and took my first bite. Sweet. Soft. Juicy. For a moment, I closed my eyes and let the taste sink in.
The stress I had been carrying all day from chores, noise, and even a minor argument earlier seemed to melt away 😅. That pawpaw really fill my stomach.
By the time I finished, I washed my hands, went back to the garden, and smiled at the remaining three pawpaws still hanging there, like nature’s promise that tomorrow could be just as sweet.
Sometimes, happiness is not in big events or grand surprises. It’s in moments like this- standing in a quiet garden and staring at what the earth gives me generously.
