I continued to admire her, and then my second person tried to deceive me; she told me that I could achieve that kind of beauty. I smiled because I knew it’s not possible, no matter how hard I wanted to try.In the past, I would have rushed to YouTube to search for recipes, but this time I simply admired her hair and appreciated her genetics for such a blessing.
Growing up, I was very conscious of my appearance. I noticed that my hair lacked volume, and the back of my head was almost bald. Hairdressers who styled my hair would complain that they couldn't achieve the desired look because there wasn't enough hair at the back. Comments like these drove me to search everywhere for remedies and try all kinds of affordable organic treatments, including rice water, onion, coconut oil, lavender oil, and fenugreek seeds. After numerous attempts and failures, I eventually gave up and accepted that genetics played a significant role in this.
I haven't really experienced hair loss, but I've dealt with stunted growth, scanty, and dry hair. However, I have learnt to appreciate and accept it the way it is. Now, I stick to a consistent routine of oiling my scalp twice a week, which has helped improve hair strength and prevent dryness. I also choose protective hairstyles when I visit the salon.
This routine has enhanced my hair texture, prevented breakage, and added shine to it. I also make sure to keep it clean, neat, and beautiful at all times. I have realised the benefits of accepting what I have, and now even comments from hairdressers have little to no effect on me. Accepting myself has played a significant role in boosting my confidence.

Quality conversation is essential for nurturing relationships. A quality conversation, in my view, involves active listening, mutual respect, empathy, and genuine interest in what the other person has to say. These elements create a sense of connection and understanding between individuals, fostering a deeper bond.
One key aspect that enhances the quality of our interactions is the ability to ask thoughtful questions and understand the person's responses. By showing interest in the other person's thoughts and feelings, we can create a more enriching conversation that leaves both parties feeling valued and understood.
I've learnt to be patient during conversations with people. I remember meeting someone with beliefs completely different from mine. Within a minute of talking, I sense the kind of person he is; arguing with him would be risky, so I chose to listen more and speak only when necessary. A person who is closed to new ideas won't engage in a healthy conversation.
Well, I allowed him to express his thoughts, and now we're close to becoming friends. According to him, he admires and appreciates how I understand him and therefore makes an effort to understand me too.
Lately, I've noticed him considering my opinion when we talk, which is great as we'll be seeing each other often. Our conversation has significantly improved because I was able to understand him from the start. So, paying attention to body language is crucial, and in virtual conversations, it's wise to focus on the energy in the person's words. Quality conversations are necessary, as they are vital for building strong relationships with others.
