Omen can be explained as events that are regarded as a sign or warning of something good or bad occurring in the future. It varies across the nation and various cultures. I heard a lot about them growing up, there were this mysterious saying that black cats where always used for witchcraft, shooting stars are a sign of good luck or a loved one who has passed on looking over at us and owls appearing in a house at night meant that death was upon the household. But my parents who were devoted Christian they never believed in that.
Types of omen
Natural omen this kind of omen occurs due to natural events and environmental factors within the environment. example: change in weather pattern.
Supernatural omen, this kind of omen has to do with spiritual aspects which includes the invoking of entities and spiritual beings. Example: prophecy.
Man made omen this kind of omen is usually created by man-made activities. examples: ritual practices and sacrifices.
Personally I have had an experience with black cats that are seen as bad omen and used for witchcraft. I have always loved cats so much because they are so cute and lovely, so we travelled down to the village sometime for farming and because it has been along time snice we travelled to the village over a year to be precise.
Then we were met with a massive infestation of rats it was bad so mom suggested that we get a cat from one of her friends who suggested that cats would kill the rats faster. So, we decided to get one of her cats and the cat was not willing to stay in the house with us, it kept returning to its owner. So, mom suggested we go to the market to get a cat for us.
I was sent to the market that day to go get the cat and when I got to the market, I asked where animals were sold and when I got there, I got a brown cat that seemed unusually quiet.
When I got home with the cat mom observed it and asked that I put in one of the rooms and lock it up and that was I did, I had all the windows closed so we left the cat to do its work with the rats over the night.
So, in the morning I opened the room to get the cat out of the room, and it was never found again then the cat I bought disappeared in the room till date and no one entered that room and the windows were fully closed. That event made me belief that there was something evil about cats indeed and it’s still a mystery to me.
From my experience I dislike cats and always avoid them everywhere I encounter them. There is a lot of conspiracy about omen and in most cases, it varies with personal experience.
