When it comes to choosing my preferred house then I would prefer to have a house with a garden.
My father had been a subsistence farmer since time immemorial, he is a lover of crops and fresh vegetables so we had a garden while growing up and weeding it was my hobby.
Despite the fact that he is a civil servant, he loves gardening and he mainly focuses on crops for our consumption.
Though the garden wasn't directly in our compound because there wasn't space for that cause the compound was floored, it was at the next plot of land close to my house.
Hardly will a year go without Dad planting one or two things, he is a lover of maize and vegetables so we planted that more often and I love the harvesting period more than the planting time.
So if I have the opportunity to build my own personal house God's willing it's certain that I'm going to have a garden in it. I'm a lover of greenery with the fact that I've grown up with a father that loves gardening, so having my own garden won't be a big deal at all.
Though I wasn't that privileged to be on the farm with my grandparents while they were alive, seeing Dad work happily with us on that small portion of land while growing up for our consumption and seeing the bountiful harvest he does get inspires me a lot.
Also I happened to work in the village for a while, so I now appreciate having a garden around the home the more because of the benefits that it entails like seeing your sweat growing comfortably in your backyard is a joy that can't be quantified let alone eating something from it is priceless.
Therefore, I'm one of those that would prefer to have a house with a garden and taking care of it will never be a problem for me because I've gotten the experience of caring for a garden while growing up.
