There is usually a major misconception we have when we engage in a task or when we are on a journey, we look at the end point from the beginning. We just want to make the journey perfect especially the end, we want the accolades and the attention in the end but we forget the growth, the process and the progress is what really matters.
I will site the example of a mountain climber who has it in mind to climb an insurmountable mountain, a feat that has never been attained before. She focuses on having a perfect record climbing the mountain, her mind is towards the end. She forgets that the journey itself is the experience, and the progress made is very much important.
Perfection is not wrong, perfection helps in giving you a good outlook and it makes your work flawless but do not let perfection stand in the way of progress. This is a trick most people fall victim of, in the end they achieve their goal but by jumping steps. They never really enjoyed the journey, they never really made progress or grow, they just wanted to get to the end and be perfect.
The point is that your progress can eventually lead to perfection. Progress and perfection are not against each others, they actually compliment each other of you do it right. Always choose progress, then you will eventually have perfection.
Don't fall victim of this.
Focus on your progress and perfection will come.
