Keeping a budget gives us a useful financial snapshot, as our situation changes we can adapt/adjust other expenditures that we know are flexible enough to accommodate. Inflation being the wildcard, we can still reasonably predict the effect on our future needs. Knowing our financial picture gives us confidence in making a sound decision.

It's a situation I have to adapt to because I wasn't used to having a budget. More like a stipend to buy the basics that I could never afford. Now I have to learn to manage my finances and know how to use every penny. Thank you for your advice.
