That's a good practice in avoiding going to shopping malls as much as it is practical. Even if we were immune, the best course is not to be tempted to begin with. I regularly throw most of my advertising flyers into the Recycling without reading them. I have been successful with my financial strategy over the many years I can still feel the urge when I walk through a mall.

It's how marketing and advertising is designed to create the illusion of an unfulfilled need. I throw away advertising flyers and got rid of my Cable subscription to help, but Google finds me! They know too much of me.
