Sad but true. My elder son experienced his first rejection and disappointment I can see it on his face a few years ago. I did my best to continue encouraging him as time went on.
We're naturally protective of our children, regardless of their age. Women of their generation seem different from where I grew up with, and I may be leery of a potential future daughter in law that marries for self benefit more than investing into the welfare of marriage. What will we do? I'd let you know when I cross that bridge.
