This is sounding like an example of Group Think that goes and takes a life of its own. Then I would look for a more edifying group of people hang around with. Meanwhile, it's a new year and I have to thin out my wardrobe of things I can clean and donate to my local Non-profit thrift shops.
Spring Cleaning starts for me.

Is Group Think a book? Or a movie? I have thinned mine but I think there’s still more I can let go off. I’m just being sentimental and holding unto them. My apologies replying just now. Very rude.
