I'm always curious of the background of the Author and reading his personal journey I can see how the events in his life shaped his attitude and perspective upon his self worth. He asked the questions we ourselves have asked; Who am I? What am I doing here? What is my purpose in life? Though we can glean that message from the Gospels few could put the message in a manner that is easy to understand. I'm not familiar with this book or the author but I have been enlighten on the same subject by different authors like John Piper, Max Lucado, Elizabeth Elliot etc.
God values each of us so much that he paid a great price, it's message that may be in our heads, but it just needs to get to our heart.
Thanks for the suggestion @bethyjade
