I've already prepared for the event of a major earthquake in my region, and have rehearsed a few different protocols but the real thing will likely be different than an imaginary one. Like you it's theoretical until it happens. No water, no power, infrastructure is damaged, in the middle of a city. What to do? Most are not prepared. You at least would have a plan.
