In our contemporary world there are women who effortlessly and selflessly support the woman cause or dream and there are also women who try to bring women down. Things are beginning to get better by the day as women now stand up for themselves or pass through agencies that can help them with their issues to face the society head-on. Unlike the past where women are relegated to the background and confined to a particular mentality, most have broken free from the shackles of societal bondage , archaic customs and traditions that oppresses and represses women, bias stereotypes and so on. In view women now come together to advocate for change by several means possible such as initiatives, organizations, non governmental organization and so on.
Like I mentioned,There are several ways women are constantly looking out for themselves whenever they notice an anomaly in the society. One of such way is the use of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, tiktok, YouTube, Whatsapp and so on.on these platforms women who have been victimized, abused or shattered and are bold to take a bold step of faith to regaining their confidence back, share their experiences on social media to educate and inspire other women, a means to guide and caution them.
For instance, we see women narrate how they loved a man and despite seeing the obvious red flags in the relationship decided that the person will change their behavior or attitude but instead it got so worse that domestic violence almost took their lives but they had to be bold and leave the relationship before they die. There are several stories of love turning sour when the acclaimed relationship is just to use women to satisfy their need and through them away like used rags. Social media has been used to support women in politics because in this part of my country we have only 15% of women in country all over the nation.
There are definitely women I admire in who have proven that the world does not revolve around men and that women that can bring about change in whatever area they find themselves be it in business, agriculture, finance, literature, banking, etc. A women I admire for a while now has to be Mrs Ibukin Awosika, this lady is so full of energy, resourceful and a vibrant leader. Awosika is the first female chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Limited. She has so far used her position to inspire women in the area of business and entrepreneurship, she uses her platform to empower women women in business by giving mentorship advice, encourage to take charge of their lives and build themselves better to achieve sustainable economic growth.
Another woman that inspires through the use of literature is Chimamanda Adichie, a brilliant feminist writer and a public speaker who through her novels advocates the women human rights and cause for change. Her major themes is based on gender equality the fight for men and women to be placed on equal levels, by including women in every affairs of the society regardless of their gender that everyone should have equal rights to opportunities such as education, political inclusion, economic empowerment, health and so on. Also, through her talks, she actively and bravely discusses these issues that women faces.
In conclusion, there are several women who are doing more anonymously in the society to empower women. It's an era of shying away from ignorance and taking the bull by the horn so as to break barriers and achieve great accomplishments.
