The burden of the past is what a lot of people carry on their backs. The mistakes of the past , memories that are very painful, the regrets keep showing in our thoughts.
Moving on will be difficult if we always harbor and replay these things in our mind.
Let us take a business man or maybe a young entrepreneur who once failed in a business for example, Instead of trying again, they keep repeating the story: “I’m not good at this. I’ll just fail again.” That single moment from years ago ends up deciding what they believe is possible today. In the process, they miss new opportunities that could change everything.
The same thing happens in relationships. For someone who has experienced a heartbreak or maybe an abuse from someone before , their is a probability that they will step into a new connection or relationship with a lot of suspicion. This is so strong that if they actually meet a honest or maybe the right people. they will still hear whispers like Be careful, you’ll be hurt again.” So you see, what happened in the past is likely to become a wall that prevents trusts and closeness.

The truth of everything is that our thought is the only place that our past exists. We can only bring it back if we continue by thinking about it. Right now, in this moment, we’re free. But the moment we stop feeding those old stories , we are actually indirectly opening up space for something new to grow.
You can practice this in small ways. So the next time it seems like an old memory just resurfaced , you can just pause for a while and remind yourself that "the moment is over now" , and that you are currently in the presence. Then gradually and gently shift your attention to the present,to your breath, and to the people around you.
If we can learn to do this more often , we will feel more lighter, the grip we have on the past we become less tight, the freedom to live freely and fully is something that we will gradually find.
