Happy new week, ladies! I hope this day finds you in good health and love. First, a big shoutout to the organizers of this contest! It has given me the chance to learn from others on the blog and also share my own experiences.
This week’s topic is quite interesting:
"Are you an indoors person or an outdoors person? Tell us which you prefer, why, and what is your favorite thing to do while there. Provide a picture of the activity if you can."
Without a doubt, I would say I am an outdoor person. I love being outside because it allows me to connect with people and even earn some money in the process.
A Chance Encounter
Yesterday, I was thinking about how to get some items for the kids before they returned to school. My only option seemed to be dipping into my savings, but I wasn’t too keen on that. Instead, I decided to visit a location where I planned to buy some new yam seedlings for my farm.
On my way, I unexpectedly ran into a long-time friend, a nurse who had recently moved into the area. As we chatted, she mentioned that she was looking for a good salon but wasn’t sure where to go. Without hesitation, I told her I could do the job myself!
I showed her some samples of hairstyles I had done in the past, and guess what? She was impressed! She agreed immediately, and I assisted her in braiding her hair. Not only was she satisfied, but I also got paid more than the amount I initially needed!
The Lesson I Learned
Later that evening, I reflected on the day's events. What if I hadn’t stepped out that day? I would have ended up using my savings, which I wanted to avoid. But because I went out, I met someone in need of my service, did the job, and got paid more than expected.
Why Being Outdoors Matters
For women who work to provide for their needs, being outdoors can open doors to unexpected opportunities. Your skills and services are needed out there! Of course, home is necessary for rest after a long day, but stepping out can lead to new connections and financial breakthroughs.
For singles, this might not seem important now, especially if someone is currently covering your bills. But ask yourself, what if that support is no longer available? Learning to put yourself out there will give you an edge in life.
Thanks so much for reading this post! Until I come your way again in the next entry, bye for now!
