Hello everyone, it's the month of June, so happy new month beautiful ladies in the house. It's another week of Ladies of Hive Community Contest #240

So, here is my entry to the prompt question;

How many languages can you speak? And what language would you want to learn more than anything?

I was brought up in the west side of Nigeria, so I got to learn their language which is Yoruba even before I got to learn my native language. So, I started learning to understand first and speak Yoruba before my native language and since it was a compulsory subject in my school, those of us who weren't an indigene had to option to learn, understand, speak, read, and write Yoruba except you want to get a zero score in test and exams.

Nobody cares if you are an indigene or not, you will read and understand by yourself and speak and write by yourself with no help, and even in front of the class, you have to behave like "The Romes", so they say. We had no option but to behave like the Romes just to get our scores, nobody wishes to fail even though it is a subject they don't like.

Circumstances happened and I had to come back to my hometown and that brought about the issue of having to learn to understand and speak my native language, and oh! It was a hard shit for us all. Not that it was a compulsory subject down here but when you are amid your mates, they just go off, without a warning like you don't exist and they are not sorry that I do not understand or know how to speak the language. So it usually leaves me feeling lost.

Apart from the English language, Yoruba, and Ibibio, I think those are the three languages that could be added to my vitals, I would love to learn the French language. Pardon me while I was in the East, I was optioned to be in a private school that taught French as a compulsory subject but my little self didn't see the need for that right now, the French language is one of the most sorted after. People who took their French classes seriously in school are now getting paid for teaching in French and translating to French or English for businessmen and women who need such services.

If you could invite any five people, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be?

If I could event any five people to a dinner party whether living or dead, they would be my girlfriend, my younger brother, and three of my close colleagues in school who are ladies too.

My younger brother is a vibe and free-spirited same as the ladies on the list, so I am sure that the dinner party is going to be a lot of fun, and gist and of course what is a dinner party with someone who does not mind going to the kitchen for the ladies especially if the party was hosted in my house.

My younger brother who is the last child of the family by the way is a gentleman with a lot of vibe, he knows how to entertain and also look after others and since we are all ladies with only him as the man, I am sure he is going to take care of us very well and make sure we enjoy the dinner party to the brim while we helps me achieve it. I am sure that when I give him something to handle, he can deliver. So yes, that would be my lineup of lists.

Thank you for reading!!!

French is really hard how do you manage to learn it? Also that's a good decision to have the brother around. It was a really nice post.

Oh I can just imagine the stories that would be told, all the memories that where ones stressful but can now be talked on and laughed about.

It was nice you had a good dinner party. For language, it was really touchy that you went through this inorder to learn languages in your school. Most times is always like that. Nice post.

I could definitely relate to that scenario, where you have to understand, speak, read, and even write the Yoruba language back then in my secondary school days. It was not a funny experience. Otherwise, you'll get ready for failure.
Beautiful read. Well done.

Also I have a brother who is free-spirited like me. We pair along so well. There's never a dull moment with him around. His vibe is out of this world.
Having such individual around like during a dinner party is just a priceless moment.
Well done @eliany
