Hello there,
I am excited to discuss this week's topic about empowerment, and I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and advice. To start, let's go through some definitions.
According to Google Dictionary, empowerment is a process that enables individuals to understand the relationship between their actions and outcomes. It allows people to have the power to achieve the results they desire. Empowerment is an intrinsic motivation made up of four cognitions: meaning, competence, self-determination, and impact.
However, in my opinion, empowerment means enabling someone, either financially, materially, or in any other way, to reach their potential or goal. Here at Ladies of Hive, we are empowering ourselves with contests, upvotes, and tokens.
As a woman, it's essential to go out of your way to help others learn or acquire a new skill. It's also a form of empowerment to teach someone else. I learned how to make local liquid soap, air freshener, tiger nut drink, hair shampoo, Greek yogurt, hibiscus drink, and chin-chin from my uncle's wife while growing up. She taught me most of my cooking skills, and I am grateful for the empowerment she gave me.
Imagine how much we could do if we all shared our skills and knowledge with others. Last year, I taught the children in my children's church how to make popcorn and air freshener, and seeing their joy and enthusiasm was fulfilling. If more women could teach children other skills, think of how much more empowered and confident they would be.
In Nigeria, where I live, women are trying their best to empower themselves and their children to avoid falling victim to maltreatment. Sadly, women in this part of the world have been treated like a piece of rag, left by their husbands, maltreated, and abused simply because they do not have a skill or are not empowered.
Every day, I promise myself to empower myself and anyone around me. I want to see women empowered so they can live a good life and take care of their families. It brings me joy to see a woman driving a good car or owning a big establishment. Some women have been through a lot, and all they need is someone who can empower them financially, materially, emotionally, or in any other way to bring out the best in them.
Let's all try to empower each other. Thank you for visiting my page.
Love you guys and see you in my next post.
