Greetings friends of the #LadiesofHive community, with this week's edition, where we are invited to reflect on one of our esteemed @amberkashif's questions, here is my participation:

Some things we own may not seem like a big deal to others, but to us they mean a great deal. Do you have something like that in your possession that has deep meaning, even if it's not worth much at first glance? What makes it so special to you?

I think most women keep something, in particular my fear is losing the connection to the meaning of some of the things I keep and even if they are things I don't need now, I don't want to regret later that I have let go of them.

What I keep just in case

It has happened to me that when I open my wardrobe I realise that I have a lot of things that I almost didn't remember I had but that I don't dare get rid of "just in case". Then when I start to do a cleaning, I decide to take out the things I don't use, the things that no longer fit or don't fit me and that take away space from the new clothes.

What I must confess is that I like to treasure what I have been given nine months ago when I moved and I realised that my old room looked like a museum, my attachment is because many of the things I have been given are so beautiful, and especially because they have a sentimental value.

Things I have been given that have a special meaning

In particular I have a box that I have kept for more than thirty years, a gift that my godmother gave me, it has been useful to keep clothes and some things that have been given to me and that for me have a sentimental meaning and as it is a small box I have not wanted to part with it.

As well as a diary that my office mates gave me many years ago when I did my internships to finish my baccalaureate, in which if anyone happens to read it, in those pages I did not write the story of my life, but there are written dedications from my friends, one or another photograph, a faded rose, letters and birthday, Valentine's Day or Christmas cards, it has served me to keep small memories, but with a great meaning.

I also have a Minnie diary given to me by a friend that I use as a diary, as well as a cloth given to me by a dear friend with my name embroidered on it.

This little box can reflect the sentimental, the romantic, the detail-oriented, the sensitivity and creativity of its owner, that is to say, the content of a simple and old little box that at first sight is not worth anything, with time it became special for me.

It is our heart that is more valuable than a box of memories

I think that sometimes it is even sad to look at what we keep inside us as feelings of anger, desire for revenge, resentment, bitterness, when we know that it is our heart that is more valuable than a simple box of memories.

So let's keep in our heart only the beautiful things, let's keep lots of love, beautiful memories, beautiful feelings, life lessons, etc. Let's get all those toads and ugly bugs out of our heart, let's do a general cleaning of negative feelings and let's turn it into a beautiful little box to keep everything beautiful, everything kind, everything healthy, everything pure.

I think we all have a past, good or difficult to remember, but we all have a future and a hope and that is what God has for us.

Algunas cosas que poseemos pueden no parecer gran cosa para otros, pero para nosotros significan muchísimo. ¿Tienes algo así en tu posesión que tenga un profundo significado, aunque no valga mucho a simple vista? ¿Qué lo hace tan especial para ti?

Creo que la mayoría de las mujeres guardamos algo, en particular mi temor es perder la conexión del significado de algunas cosas que tengo guardadas y aunque sean cosas que ahora no me hagan falta, no quisiera lamentarme más tarde por haberme desprendido de ellas.

Lo que guardo por si acaso

Me ha pasado que al abrir mi ropero me doy cuenta que tengo muchas cosas que ya casi no me acordaba que tenía pero que no me atrevo deshacerme de ellas “por si acaso". Luego cuando me pongo hacer una limpieza, decido sacar la que no uso, la que ya no me queda o no me sirve y que le quita espacio a la ropa nueva.

Lo que si debo confesar que me gusta atesorar lo que me regalan hace ya nueve meses que me mudé y me di cuenta que mi habitación anterior parecía un museo, mi apego es porque muchas cosas que me han regalado son tan lindas, y en especial guardan un valor sentimental.

Cosas que me han obsequiado y que tienen un significado especial

En particular tengo una caja que conservo desde hace más de treinta años, un regalo que me hizo mi madrina, me ha sido útil para guardar prendas y algunas cosas que me han obsequiado y que para mí tienen un significado sentimental y como es una cajita pequeña no me he querido desprender de ella.

Así como un diario que me regalaron hace muchos años, los compañeros de oficina cuando hice mis pasantías para culminar el bachillerato, en el cual si alguien por casualidad llega a leerlo, en esas páginas no escribí la historia de mi vida, sino están escritas dedicatorias de mis amigos, una que otra fotografía, una rosa marchita, cartas y tarjetas de cumpleaños, de san Valentín o Navidad, me ha servido para guardar recuerdos pequeños, pero con un gran significado.

Tengo además una agenda de Minnie que me regaló un amigo y es la que uso como diario, además un paño que me obsequió una amiga muy querida con mi nombre bordado.

Esta cajita puede reflejar lo sentimental, lo romántica, lo detallista, la sensibilidad y creatividad de su dueña, es decir, el contenido de una simple y antigua cajita que a simple vista no vale, con el tiempo se volvió especial para mí.

Es nuestro corazón lo más valioso que una simple caja de recuerdos

Pienso que algunas veces y hasta es triste mirar lo que guardamos en nuestro interior como sentimientos de rabia, deseos de venganza, rencor, amargura, cuando sabemos que es nuestro corazón lo más valioso que una simple caja de recuerdos.

Entonces guardemos en nuestro corazón sólo las cosas bellas, guardemos mucho amor, bellos recuerdos, bellos sentimientos, lecciones de vida, etc. Saquemos todos esos sapos y bichos feos de nuestro corazón, hagamos una limpieza general de sentimientos negativos y convirtámoslo en una hermosa cajita para guardar todo lo bello, todo lo amable, todo lo sano, todo lo puro.

Pienso que todos tenemos un pasado, bueno o difícil para recordar, pero todos tenemos un futuro y una esperanza y es lo que Dios tiene para nosotros.
