RE: Work Stress and How I Manage It || LOH#182

I am always thankful to all teachers everywhere, most of who give so much of themselves despite a bad payscale. Much appreciated!

I do feel a career or vocation is important, not just for the aspect of helping us meet life's challenges, but also to keep our brain active and challenging it. That is the only way to keep ourselves healthy late into our lives. With the wonders of medical science our life expectancy is going to be long on average and it is very important for us to reach the last phase with a healthy mind in a healthy body.

I prefer working from home to going to office. I find I tend to get more uninterrupted time at home than at office. So when I go to office it is largely for the meetings and interactions with colleagues.

However here too, for my female teammates, they do prefer working from office, especially if they are a parent. Because at home, in India, many women find it difficult to impose the discipline to make children, partner, or parents in law not interfere with domestic requirements in the middle of the working day. When they come to office for a few hours they can completely focus and not be disturbed by the domestic chaos. Of course thanks to pandemic working from home was a reality and some families have learnt to keep a buffer. For eg. in my family if my wife has shut the door to her room no one will disturb her as she might be taking a call.

At the end of it output is what matters :)

Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife
