I never thought that my camera roll could tell a story about me... #loh303

I never really thought that my camera roll could tell a story about me.

To me, it was just a collection of random pictures, I mean selfies I took because I liked how I looked that day, the screenshots I saved because something caught my attention, pictures of food I ate for the first time or I want to eat, places I visited, funny videos, things I wanted to remember, and moments I didn't want to forget.

I thought it was just a normal collection

Then I saw this week's prompt: If your camera roll could tell your life story, what would it reveal about you?

And then, I looked at my gallery differently

If someone scrolled through my camera roll, they would probably discover that I am someone who pays attention to little things, very observant to it

They would find pictures from days when I wasn't feeling well. Pictures of medications and moments when I was trying to take care of myself.

They would see that sometimes, I don't just go through difficult moments, I document them.

They would also discover my curiosity

There are pictures of foods I tasted for the first time and places I visited for the first time. Things I had never seen before but wanted to remember.

Thee are drinks I also try for the first time

Apparently, when something is new to me, my first instinct is to take a picture so that I find out about em later in the run

My gallery would reveal that I am bit sentimental too.

I take pictures of ordinary moments because, somehow, I know they won't always feel ordinary. A meal,a smile, a random outing, some quiet moment and a face I don't want to forget.

And then there are the screenshots.

Oh, the screenshots

This would probably expose my many interests, my random thoughts, the things I am learning, the things that inspire me, the things that make me laugh, and even the things I was curious about at 2 a.m.

My screenshots would probably tell a completely different version of my story.

My selfies would reveal something else: that I am learning to see myself differently.

Some days, I take several pictures because I feel beautiful, other days, I take them simply because I want proof that I was there, in that moment, living that particular version of myself.

And maybe that's what my camera roll really reveals.

Not a perfect life, but real one.

A life filled with firsts, ordinary days, difficult moments, laughter, the curiosities, food, people, places, learning, and tiny memories I decided were worth keeping.

My camera roll isn't just full of pictures but it is full of evidence that I was here.

That I experienced things, the ones I noticed.

The feeling that I lived

Maybe that's the story my gallery would tell about me that I find meaning in little moments, and I don't want them to disappear without a trace.

Me? The majority is of family, random shots around my city, screenshots of things I'd like to check out when time permits. When I look at any of my own selfies I find that I very rarely smile, I'll have to try smiling more often. It's either that I am bored, too serious or in discomfort.

Thanks for sharing @bbscribe94
