Me siento contenta de poder participar en este concurso, hace poco entré en el Discord de Ladies of Hive y estoy conociendo gente linda, comprometida y solidaria que me ha animado a compartir mis experiencias, sentimientos y esperanzas en estos espacios.

I enjoy my vacations when the school year is over, either during the months of August and part of September and/or December.
When I look back on my vacations, each one is accompanied by meaningful, joyful memories, full of life and color. The same is true of my last vacation of this past school year, when I traveled to Margarita Island, Venezuela. I visited historical places, beaches, markets, churches, plazas... in short, everything I could get to know in those few but wonderful days of rest and relaxation.
The first thing that comes to mind is the ferry ride to the island. A necessary step, but one that makes me a little afraid when the wind is strong and creates a swell that moves the boat like a leaf. And that day it was just like that... the very high waves made the ferry lurch from one side to the other, sometimes gently, sometimes abruptly. All of us passengers were kept in suspense during the 4 hours it took to get to the island. My heart was pounding and I silently prayed that we would soon reach our destination. I took a deep breath as we finally stepped off the ferry. Although it was not the best way to start a vacation, I feel that it is important to stay calm in times like these.
And there I was... ready to enjoy my vacation to the fullest!
Disfruto mis vacaciones una vez que terminan los períodos escolares, bien sea en los meses de Agosto y parte de septiembre, y/o en Diciembre.
Cuando repaso mis vacaciones, cada una va acompañada de recuerdos significativos, alegres, llenos de vida y color. Asimismo fueron mis últimas vacaciones del año escolar pasado, donde estuve de paseo en la Isla de Margarita, Venezuela. Recorrí lugares históricos, playas, mercados, Iglesias, Plazas... en fin, todo lo que pude conocer en esos pocos pero maravillosos días de relax y descanso.
Lo primero que viene a mi mente es el traslado en Ferry hasta la Isla. Un paso necesario pero que me inspira algo de miedo cuando hay brisa muy fuerte y genera un oleaje que mueve el barco como a una hoja. Y ese día justamente estaba asi... las olas muy altas hacían que el ferry se tambaleara de un lado a otro, a veces de forma suave, otras de manera brusca. Todos los pasajeros nos mantuvimos en zozobra durante las 4 horas que duró el traslado a la Isla. Mi corazón latía con fuerza y oraba en silencio para llegar pronto a nuestro destino. Respiré profundo cuando por fin bajamos del ferry. Aunque no fue el inicio más bonito de unas vacaciones siento que, mantener la calma en momentos como éstos es vital.
Y allí estaba... dispuesta a disfrutar al máximo de mis vacaciones!

And so began my tour. First, I visited some places that told me about the history of the island; some religious places that told me about its faith; and of course, its beaches, recreational spaces, sharing, that told me about the activity of its inhabitants, their daily life, their experiences. In a few pictures I shared with you part of this beautiful vacation. Each space I visited made me feel vibrant and at the same time relaxed.
The sea breeze refreshes you and fills you with light and energy. Sitting on the sand in front of the beach gives you a delicious relaxation, the stress and anxieties of everyday life disappear; the colors that each landscape gives you is a spectacle to behold.
Walking through the streets of Piedra de la Capital, knowing part of the history, talking to the fishermen, visiting the beaches, make you feel consubstantiated with our country, with its people, with the greatness of each city, with the beauty of your country. I really invite you, when you have the opportunity, to visit the island and fill yourselves with this energy, with this vibrant light that radiates from every corner and landscape of the island.
En pocas imágenes les compartí parte de estas hermosas vacaciones. Cada espacio recorrido me hizo sentir vibrante y al mismo tiempo relajada.
La brisa del mar te refresca y te llena de luz, de energía. Sentarme en la arena frente a la playa te brinda un relax delicioso, desaparecen el estrés y las angustias del día a día; los colores que te brinda cada paisaje es espectáculo a la vista.
Caminar por las calles de Piedra de la Capital, conocer parte de la historia,hablar con los pescadores, visitar las playas, te hacen sentir consustanciada con nuestra Patria, con su gente, con lo grande que tiene cada ciudad, con lo hermoso de tu país. Realmente les invito a que, cuando tengan oportunidad, visiten la Isla y llénense de esta energía, de esta luz vibrante que irradía cada rincón y paisaje de ella.
