I believe that Cuba could end the US blockade and embargo overnight. The Cuban government would have to do for the USA what the Cuban ANPP does for the Cuban President, which is to agree with their policies uncritically. Cuba sells it's economy for political freedom to disagree with US foreign policy. Because US foreign policy involved Cuba, with well known consequences, the corruption of it's commercial enterprises, the impoverishment of it's people, and the criminal ownership of casinos, hotels, and the tourism industry by pimps and drug dealers, I am not sure the Cuban people would be better off if the Cuban government became a minion of the Atlanticist block.

The USA is as democratic as a country can be. But in the political environment the banksters have created by bribing, blackmailing, and bamboozling everyone everywhere that has anything to do with power, the control of elections becomes financially determined, and the votes of honest civilians become the dollars of whoever funds counting those votes. The American people have not nominated Donald Trump and Kamala Harris as their choices to compete for the Presidency. Money has. Democracy is merely a cover for corruption everywhere there is enough money to corrupt it. Perhaps Cuba's economic weakness is the strength of it's democratic institutions.
