Pretty woman directed by Garry Marshall is a romantic movie that brings together two seemingly mismatched people from different walks of life. The movie follows the story of Vivian Ward played by ( Julia Roberts) a struggling prostitute and Edward Lewis, played by (Richard Gere) a wealthy self- assured corporate executive.

What begins as a transactional arrangement soon transforms into an unexpected love that challenges the characters' perception of themselves and each other. At the beginning of the movie Vivan is working on the streets of Hollywood Boulevard struggling to make ends meet and living a life dictated by circumstances beyond her control.

She is confident and street smart but her life is limited to the world of prostitution and small-time hustlin. Edward Lewis on the other hand is a successful but lonely businessman who has come to Los Angeles for work. He is a powerful corporate raider who buys up companies and strips them of their assets.

His detected, emotionally distant demeanor makes him appear cold and ruthless but this a defense mechanism to avoid vulnerability. The two meet when Edward is lost in the city and stops to ask Vivan for directions, in a spontaneous decision hires her for a night and what begins as a professional transaction turns into an unusual arrangement.

He offers Vivian a significant amount of money to spend the next week with him as his escort attending business meetings, dinner parties and other social events. Vivan Initially hesitate agrees to the deal and is transformed from a street prostitute into a polished glamorous companion receiving a makeover and wardrobe makeover that turns her into a beautiful sophisticated woman.

Aren't you seeing that the movie is getting more interesting, let's move ahead so I can summarize everything for you. As the week progresses Vivan and Edward begin to connect on a deeper level, whereby Edward was charmed by Vivan's honesty, sense of humor and refreshing lack of pretense. He starts to open up to her , revealing his own vulnerabilities and the emotional wall he has built over the years.

Vivan too begins to change not just in her appearance but in her self esteem for the first time she is treated like a real person not just an object to be used and discarded. However the bonding Romance faces complications, as Vivan struggles with her self-worth, often questioning whether Edward sees her as anything more than a beautiful woman for hire.

Edward, despite his growing feelings for Vivian, is unsure of hime to reconcile their relationship with his world of high society and business. Tensions rise as their past collides with their developing relationship and they must confront the difference in their social status and personal lives.

In the first climax , Edward realizes that he has deeply fallen in love with Vivan and what he did will amaze you because he straight away showed up in her apartment trying to make things right. The movie ended with a fairy tale moment, funny right? As Edwards climbs up to her fire escape rescuing her in the most literal sense which signifies their journey from two people who saw each other as disposable to a couple who have loved, cared and learned about each other despite their differences.

Very romantic film, I have seen some of Richard's films since he did American Gigolo, but this last performance was fantastic, accompanied by Julia they made a convincing couple, so much so that I wouldn't mind having a relationship with a woman like Vivian. Greetings

Am happy you love the movie
