Saludos estimados cinéfilos de #CineTV. Hoy quiero hablarles de una serie que terminé de ver hace días, se trata de Alien: Earth. Una serie que esperé bastante por su estreno y que no me perdía semanalmente hasta que la trama tomó un giro inesperado. Les compartiré mi sincera opinión sin hacer spoilers.
Greetings, dear #CineTV moviegoers. Today I want to talk to you about a series I finished watching a few days ago: Alien: Earth. I waited quite a while for it to premiere and didn't miss it every week until the plot took an unexpected turn. I'll share my honest opinion with you, without giving away any spoilers.

La serie, después de verla, pienso que se debió haber llamado Mi Amigo el Alien Asesino. Tengo muchas críticas como fanática para la historia que decidieron desarrollar aquí y una de ellas es el poco protagonismo que le dieron a lo que la bautizó con el nombre: Alien.

After watching the series, I think it should have been called My Friend the Killer Alien. As a fan, I have several criticisms about the story they decided to develop here, and one of them is the lack of prominence they gave to what they called: Alien.
Si, la serie se llama Alien: Earth pero lamentablemente el propio Alien como tal no tiene casi protagonismo en ella. Al menos no como lo esperaba. Pero dejando un poco de lado este pequeño gran detalle, voy a escribir sobre lo que sí me gustó.
Yes, the series is called Alien: Earth, but unfortunately, the Alien itself barely plays a role in it. At least not as I expected, but leaving this minor detail aside, I'm going to write about what I did like.
La actuación de Timothy Olyphant me encantó. Verlo con ese cabello blanco y que interpretara a un robot sintético fue lo mejor de la serie. Su actuación salvó la historia y literalmente la terminé de ver por él. La protagonista Sydney Chandler también trabajó muy bien. Destacó bastante, así que la producción hizo un buen trabajo al contratar a su elenco, a nivel general todos estuvieron excelentes.
I loved Timothy Olyphant's performance. Seeing him with that white hair and playing a synthetic robot was the best part of the series. His performance saved the story, and I literally finished watching it because of him. Lead actress Sydney Chandler also performed very well. She stood out quite a bit, so the production did a good job hiring its cast; overall, everyone was excellent.
El problema de la serie no fue sus personajes, ni las actuaciones ni los efectos especiales con los detalles futuristas por todos lados. Todo eso me encantó, pero el problema vino con la trama final contada a lo largo de los capítulos.
The problem with the series wasn't its characters, the acting, or the special effects with their futuristic details everywhere. I loved all of that, but the problem came with the final plot told throughout the episodes.
Los peinados, el vestuario, el maquillaje, todo eso estuvo a todo dar. En ese aspecto le dieron a los fans lo que esperaban y más. ¿Pero la historia? Es otra historia, valga la redundancia.
The hairstyles, the costumes, the makeup—everything was top-notch. In that regard, they gave fans what they expected and more. But the story? That's a different story, excuse the redundancy.
Todo empezó estupendamente, de manera clásica como las primeras películas de Alien, tanto que me recordaron aquella estrenada en 1979 y protagonizada por la legendaria Sigourney Weaver. Y en cierto punto la trama se fue en declive y enfocó su desarrollo en otras cosas, dejando de lado el protagonismo del villano icónico, mejor conocido como Alien.
It all started wonderfully, in a classic way like the first Alien films, so much so that they reminded me of the 1979 film starring the legendary Sigourney Weaver. But at a certain point, the plot began to decline and focused its development on other things, leaving aside the role of the iconic villain, better known as Alien.
Insisto con este tema porque también integraron otros cuatro tipos de especies tanto o más peligrosas que el mismo Alien, pero lo peor no es eso porque esas cosas le dieron un agregado inesperado. Lo peor fue que los trataban como mascotas, a tal punto de que no sabes y de hecho te hace dudar si estas criaturas extrañas son amigos o enemigos.
I'm insisting on this topic because they also included four other types of species that were as dangerous as, or more dangerous than, the Alien itself. But that's not the worst part, because those things gave it an unexpected twist. The worst part was that they treated them like pets, to the point where you don't know, and in fact, it makes you doubt whether these strange creatures are friends or foes.
Eso fue lo que realmente no me gustó ni un poquito. Cambiarle el enfoque a lo que ya tienes años conociendo por múltiples películas en las que te demuestran que un Alien no puede ser ni controlado, ni domesticado, ni mucho menos amigable como un osito de peluche.
That's what I really didn't like one bit. Shifting the focus from what you've known for years to multiple films that show you that an Alien can't be controlled, tamed, or even friendly like a teddy bear.
Alien es Alien y siempre lo será, sin importar cuántos años futurísticos sucedan, su lado salvaje y su estructura física compleja siempre prevalece, sin importar cuántos directores dirijan estas tramas, su historia siempre prevalece de esta manera y es lo que ha sido fiel a lo largo de la franquicia, para que venga Noah Hawley a destruirlo en unos cuántos capítulos.
Alien is Alien and always will be, no matter how many futuristic years happen, its wild side and its complex physical structure always prevails, no matter how many directors direct these plots, its story always prevails in this way and it is what has been faithful throughout the franchise, so that Noah Hawley comes to destroy it in a few chapters.
Quedé con ganas de ver más del lado oscuro de Alien aquí, independientemente de la cantidad de sintéticos existentes en ella y la cantidad de humanos tontos que intentaban matarlo porque se escapó de su jaula, como un animal cuando se escapa del zoológico. En ese aspecto me decepcionó y por eso le otorgo 3 estrellas de 5. ¿Conclusión? Fue entretenida y podría haber sido mejor.
I was left wanting to see more of Alien's dark side here, regardless of the number of synthetics in it and the number of foolish humans trying to kill it because it escaped from its cage, like an animal escaping from the zoo. In that regard, I was disappointed, and that's why I'm giving it 3 out of 5 stars. Conclusion? It was entertaining and could have been better.
