One of the movies that is truly etched in my memory from childhood is Big Hero 6, and every time I watch it, I find myself enjoying it as if it were the first time! The movie isn't just a cute animation for kids; it's an experience brimming with emotion, action, and comedy, and every time I watch it, I feel how ahead of its time it was.
The story begins with Hiro Hamada, a genius child who loved inventions but wasted his talent in robot battles. His brother who saw more in him and decided to guide him on the right path. Unfortunately his life was cut short in a sudden accident. This is where Baymax as the medical robot designed by Tadashi, appears. He transforms from a mere medical assistant into Hiro's closest friend and brother, helping him find his way through grief and loss.
Not only did the story captivate me, but the action scenes were also brilliant and visually stunning, from the character design and fighting style to the intelligent use of technology. The team that Hiro and his friends (Jo Jo, Honey Lemon, Fred, and Wasabi) formed had great chemistry, and each of them had their own distinct personality and style that made the adventure even more enjoyable.
Although the film is classified as an animation, it touched on powerful human themes like loss, friendship, and dealing with grief and the relationship between Hiro and Baymax was the most touching thing for me because Baymax was not just a robot and he served as a good mirror for Hiro's emotions teaching him how to deal with pain instead of turning to revenge.
The film made me wish there would be a sequel because its world is full of ideas and adventures worth exploring and at the same time it left me satisfied with the story, because it conveyed its message in a complete and impactful way.
