> Hold The Dark

This is the kind of movie that keeps you sitting there all the time trying to understand whats going on and thats what attracted me the most about it The story is about a writer who specializes in wolf behavior and is asked to go to a remote village in Alaska to help a mother whose son has disappeared and the people there are convinced that wolves took him But from the moment he arrives you feel that something is wrong and the whole atmosphere is mysterious and gloomy in an unnatural way.

What I liked most about the movie is the atmosphere and the photography The landscapes in Alaska are scary and beautiful at the same time and give a sense of isolation and psychological terror that the characters live in The movie is not a traditional horror movie but it plays on the idea of fear of the unknown and the danger that is not clear to you.

The acting was great especially Jeffrey Wright who played the writer I felt that he was really a person lost in the middle of a story much bigger than him Alexander Skarsgård also gave a strong performance as the mysterious violent father who doesnt know exactly what he wants The characters in the movie all have strange motivations which makes the events predictable and unexpected at the same time.

The story itself is not straightforward and leaves you thinking of many interpretations after the movie ends There are no clear answers and everyone can understand the movie in a different way Some people may like this but at the same time it may make other people feel that it is exaggerated or too mysterious.

In general Hold the Dark is a slow and mysterious movie relying on atmosphere and psychological tension more than direct events If you like movies that make you think and leave you with a feeling of discomfort you will love it But if you are waiting for a clear story and a closed ending you may find it a bit disappointing.
