Hello everyone welcome to my blog🤗.
The movie that comes to my mind that centers on a big event is the wedding party. The movie was a hit that year.
**MOVIE SUMMARY **
The Wedding Party (2016) is a Nollywood movie that combines humor, drama, and emotions.
The film is about two lovers from different worlds who are set to marry. They differ greatly in terms of cultural background, socioeconomic standing, sexual practices, educational background, and many other factors. As the cliché goes, love conquers all.
Dozie Onwuka comes from an affluent family in the Eastern region of Nigeria, and he is a retired playboy set to marry the love of his life,Dunni Coker.
Dunni Coker, a virgin from Western Nigeria, she's from an average-income family compared to Dozies' family financial statue. She has sworn to keep herself till her wedding night.
Dozies Mother didn't like Dunni due to the differences between them but had to put up with the wedding because her son insisted on marry her, his exes aren't in support of his union either. They believe Dunni does not deserve him. There's this particular ex who kept lurking around hoping to ruin their day.
The movie is centered Mainly on the wedding preparation and the wedding day itself, although there are alot of challenges before the "I Do".
On the wedding day, due to certain issues prior to the bachelor's party they had the previous day, Dozie's best man couldn't fit for the day, so he had to get an emergency best man, who became a disaster of the event.
There are numerous reasons why the wedding should not be held. Because the calamity was simply too big for a one-day occurrence. Was it Doozie's mother who disliked the bride and her family, or the groom's exes who remained in the shadows, determined to destroy Dunni's day? The two caterers hired by both parents, one high class and the other lower class, or the best man who caused havoc, and lastly the robber who broke into the wedding hall.
Despite all of the calamity love wins. Although the bride ran away from but the groom was able to save the day.
****MY REVIEW****
The film featured a number of prominent actors, actresses, and comedians. The cast was perfect for the roles they played. I liked how enjoyable the movie was; there isn't a single scene where you don't laugh out loud, and they also show the true Nigerian way of celebrating weddings.
Dozie's parents were fully dressed in Igbo costume, whilst Dunnis' parents were nicely dressed in Yoruba attire.
Despite all of the circumstances surrounding their wedding, the love between the couple was so fascinating. My favorite part of the movie was when Dozie had to explain himself to his bride. I could feel Dunnie's innocence and Dozie's how helpless he was trying to win back the love of his life. The chemistry between them was so real that it went beyond acting.
For me the caterer that was hired by the groom's family over acted her part, she was overdoing some of the accents and ordering around . Aside that i love every bit of the movie.
I will recommend you watch this movie to unwind from the stress of the day😃.
I will rate the movie 4.5/5
