Hello Cine TV Community, and welcome to another amazing week. We’ve got exciting things planned for your entertainment, and it’s our hope that this will be an interactive week because we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the productions that will be brought to you.
This week will be switching up on the expected and bringing to you the low-rated films across different genres. These films are rated incredibly low on IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and the rest. So, this week’s question is whether or not you agree with the ratings. Should they be trashed as they deserve the ratings, or do they deserve a fighting chance? It’s all subjective anyway, but we’d love to know the community’s diverse opinions.
Starting off strong will be with the ROMANCE genre. Three picks today. Let’s get right into it!
What Men Want (2019)
With a 3.3 Rating on IMDB, this film tells the story of Ali Davis, who feels boxed out by her male colleagues at work. She is a successful sports agent, but when she’s passed over for a promotion with the excuse of her inability to connect with men, she’s determined to prove that she has what it takes. While dancing with her friends at a club, she’s knocked unconscious and wakes up to see that she can now read men’s minds. How much of an advantage will this give her without causing a disaster?
Okay, I’m going to be quiet on this one because I did see it and had a few good laughs…of sorts, but that’s not all needed to make a good movie, right?
The Kissing Booth (2018)
This one has a 3.9 rating on IMDB, and tells the story of Elle and Lee, who have been best friends since birth, and are now in junior high school. Elle has always had a crush on Lee’s older brother, Noah, but keeps it a secret till he defends her from a guy who touches her inappropriately, and they accidentally kiss at a fair. A secret relationship that her best friend knows nothing about kills Elee on the inside, but a time comes when she has to choose. Love against a forever-friendship?
Most of us saw The Kissing Booth when it was released, and some of us may have had reservations. Now is the time to let it all out, perhaps?
Marry Me (2022)
With a low 3.6 rating on IMDB, this is the story of Kat Valdez who is a renowned star in the Latin community. After three failed marriages, she’s determined to make this last one work with her fiancé, Bastian, and decides to marry him in front of a streaming audience at her concert. But a sudden reveal right there on the altar causes her to do the unexpected, and that too with someone she’s never even met. Can she calm the media’s probing questions on her mental state, or has she bitten far more than she can chew?
One of the most ridiculous movie premises known to man, in my opinion, but maybe this is more up your speed?
That’s about it for today. What are your thoughts on any or all of the three films listed above? Do you think they deserve their low ratings, or is it all media nonsense? Do you think other romance movies should have lower ratings than these? Let us know!
