I hope there are still Hiver’s who are like me that loves fish with vegetables because fish especially from the ocean are super duper healthy and good for our health too.I am craving for fish and vegetables and when I open my refrigerator I smiled i have the Okra and just right in time the fish vendor pass by so i stop him and i buy fish .SO; Let me share to you one of my favorite dish which is easy to prepare and thinking this recipe makes me thinks of extra rice. The recipe is called PAKSIW (Inun-onan) which I learned from my late beloved grandfather. This recipe is from his ancestors which my folks love to eat until now.

I ate rice cake and paired it with coffee for breakfast so both are sweets so now for my lunch i am looking for something a bit salty. IN my mind i want a fresh fish not from my freezer. Luckily the fish vendor I heard coming so hurriedly went out to buy. I was just cleaning the fish when my daughter woke up because she wakes up late during weekends. When she saw me cleaning the fish and saw the rest of the ingredients she smiled and asked if i would cook fish Paksiw? I answered yes to her and she told me she would only eat breakfast when the Paksiw is cooked.
My youngest daughter loves to eat fish and Okra, opposite to her elder sister who doesn't like to eat Okra.I am glad that she loves to eat with me this dish because for me it's more yummy to eat with someone that loves to eat also your food.

Half kilo of fish
Salt
seasoning(Magic sarap)
Vinegar
Ground pepper
Garlic
Onion
Long chili
Okra
Water
Procedure:
Take off the gills and the intestines of the fish.
Wash well the fish.
Put in a colander to eliminate extra water.
Remove the skins of the garlic and the onion
Slice the garlic and onion
In a pot put the fish
Add the spicies, seasonings, salt, vinegar, ground pepper, water and the long chili.
Mix well by using a spoon to ensure the fish is well seasoned
Wash the Okra well.
Remove the head of the Okra by using a knife.
Cut into halves the Okra.
Add the okra to the pot.
Cover it
Boil it for 10 minutes or until Okra is tender
#serve it with RiCE
When the Paksiw started to boil my daughter said; Hmmm! Yummy! Because she smells the cooking dish already and said; Mama,I am starving!. I just reply,, wait for a while please.
Then I prepared the table so we can eat my early lunch while for her it is Brunch. We prayed and blessed the food before we started to eat and while we were eating I asked her about her lessons, especially her scores during her 4th periodical exam. She gave me good news that she all passed her exams with high scores. We both enjoyed the food because we are the same that loves to eat fish and Okra and we are glad that it makes us full and content.
