A Relaxing Drive in the Countryside

Because the weather has been hot, we went for a cool drive in the countryside instead of a walk.

In the distance, the gritstone edge of Stanage Edge is approximately 4 miles long and has featured in the film ‘Pride and Prejudice’ starring Keira Knightley.

There's many stone paths leading to the very top. Alternatively, you can also park up the hill and then walk along the top.

A cabbage white butterfly and a small copper butterfly was sharing food with a bee.

Our next stop was a local birdfeeding station, where we left some birdseed. The pink and purple flowers of the rosebay willowherb are quite common, often found along roadsides and river, ponds, etc.

The sheep had the sense to shelter from the sun along the stone wall.

Despite the little rain we've had, it is still quite green in certain areas. I'm hoping the rain that is forecast tomorrow arrives to freshen things up.

What an amazing location to walk freely!!! I often love to visit the countryside area, I feel so relaxed whenever I visit small towns, villages or just green fields...

Yes, it's recommended. I think getting out into nature is good for you. Unless you tread in cow shit ... then that's not so good. 😁
