Critical thinking involves thinking deeply in order to make informed decisions

Yep, I totally think that's the best thing about it. Of course sometimes the decision we have to make is not the simplest or the easiest one, but it is the best at that moment. And critical thinking let's us see that sometimes the easiest path is not the best for us.
