Letting go of a belief is as difficult as asking someone who uses their left hand to switch to their right hand without letting them know while it is necessary for them to do so. When it comes to letting go of beliefs, I would say there are some beliefs I can let go of if after evaluation there is no critical proof they hold water.
In my country, there are lots of superstitious beliefs that are passed down from generation to generation. I remember growing up when we were made to believe little children practice witchcraft by giving out nuts, biscuits, and other sweet stuff. Fear of being bewitched is to stop getting things from kids of our age grade. Those kids are now adults; there was no sign of anyone exhibiting any form of being possessed by witchcraft.
I find it easy to adapt to new information by letting go of beliefs that don't have solid evidence of factuality. It takes personal decision and time to let go of beliefs, and adapting to new information requires a gradual process. None is easy, but being open to learning and growth is important as far as we exist on the planet Earth.
Also, exposure to information and having a think on the factual reality of so many beliefs have helped me in letting go of so many childhood superstitious beliefs. Exposure to learning everything has made my letting go of beliefs easy. I know countless beliefs I have tried to convince my mum to let go of, but her body and mind are already rooted in the significance she believes those beliefs have.
