HELLO HIVE

A successful garden needs healthy, well-prepared soil for a start before any other arrangements should be made; the soil condition plays a very important role in the resulting quantity and quality that our garden plants ☘️ will yield.

Whether you are planting herbs, vegetables or fruits you have to pay very close attention to the soil and to do that I will highlight some effective ways to go about this especially in areas around riverine areas where irrigation farming is practiced all year long to maximize the water from the river.

Firstly it is very important to remove weeds, stones and leftover debris this gives the crops a good condition for a fresh start while other preparations can follow swiftly without any hitches from weeds, stones, and debris.

Loosening

You should also loosen the soil, and I do this using my hoe that will increase the soil aeration which is very important for crop growth.

Break clods

Once you are done loosening the soil there are chances that you will find large clumps of soil especially in soils that has clay content in it like the once by the river side, you have to break the clods to make the soil texture fine.

Raise the beds

You can now raise the beds, it doesn't have to be high especially if you are dealing with vegetables with roots that do not penetrate the soil so deep that way you save yourself a lot of stress,it also allows excess water to flow away.

Enrich with organic matter

Mix compost or aged manure with the soil to increase the soil fertility before planting

Every step is very important to yield a good result although failure to do one doesn't mean things wouldn't yield it only means it won't yield to the crops maximum strength.
