HELLO HIVE
Weeding some of my farms has gotten a little late than expected and it has affected several crops so I have to improvise in some way to make things better for the crops without affecting the crops that are at a stage where weeding should not be carried out in these farms.
There is a period when it is not advisable to weed groundnut which coincides with the time when the crop has started to produce nuts underneath the ground at that time the crop doesn't react well to weeding being carried out on the farm with its delicate roots that is the source of the seeds getting exposed to the sharp blades of the hoe damaging most of its root and the seed in other cases so what do farmers do at this stage to fix things? Knowing fully well that leaving the crops inside the weeds will inevitably damage the crops and expose them to pests that will use the bushy areas around the farm as hideouts to cause damage to the groundnut.
At this stage, I can only make use of hand weeding to remove the weeds and I have to do it carefully to prevent the groundnut from being uprooted together with the weeds or the roots from getting exposed while handling weeding the farm.
I had so much work at once that I couldn't keep up with this farm it got so worse that you could hardly spot the groundnut at some point but now it is looking good after the weeding was completed.
