Clearing and planting for the year

in Homesteading3 days ago (edited)

It's that time of year again when we go into the farm to produce for the next year and this time, my family and I were skeptical about doing it this time, but no matter what happens it must be done. Farming is always perceived to be stressful especially if it's not done in a mechanized way.

Being done with the whole deliberation wether to go into farming or not for the year, our minds were finally made up to do it because like the say, "if you work you eat." So we had as there's nobody to depend on.

We kicked it off with the first stage which is clearing the parcel of land where the farming is to happen and nobody could do if not labourers. It looks them days as the piece was large enough. When they were done, making hips was the next the thing of which it was the labourers who did same as well.

It was at planting the corn and the cassava stems that we did ourselves, like it seems that when you hire people to do this part the plant doesn't do well enough as you want it. The reason one will have to take charge from this point besides getting people to do this part now is difficult for people who wants to go hiring at this season time of farming. It happened that some close relatives extended their hand for help of which was welcomed.

The above parcel of land is where we did ours, it wasn't an easy work to do but at last everything about getting the work done was a successful though it was time consuming and stressful. Yet we had to make it cam to reality to avoid empty table sometime soon.

That must be a whole lot of work you are doing over there. Well done.

It's not an easy one, the work is a huge one.
