Gratitude On Christmas

in SciFi Multiverse5 months ago

Today is the 25th of December. It's Christmas Day and as I lay on my bed, I can hear the continuous sounds of fireworks. So far, I have survived 359 days and it's only about 6 days more and we would call 2025 a wrap. Looking back, this year wasn't just an ordinary year. It was a journey filled with endless lessons and experiences. Today, the Sci-fi multiverse community invites us to participate in an interesting prompt. The community invites us to reflect on the year and for some reason, it feels just right to do that on Christmas Day. What are you most grateful for as the year ends? Did you show kindness and compassion to others this year? How did you handle disappointment this year?

I would be an ingrate if I said I am not grateful for anything this year. This year, I enjoyed the grace of God in full measure. One of the things I am grateful for is that I survived the year from the first day of January to the 25th day of December. This year, so many people lost their lives. We heard news about different kinds of accidents; road, air, and even the unexpected ones. Some lost their lives right in their homes. We heard stories of kidnappings. This year, one of my neighbors lost their mum and younger sister. It is not like I am more righteous or better in any way than these people. It just takes the grace of God and I am grateful to Him for making me enjoy that grace.

Next, I am grateful for the little wins. I achieved so many great things this year. The most interesting part? I didn't see some of them coming. A year ago, I would have never thought I would achieve some of the things I achieved this year. Every now and then, I keep asking myself these questions; my life is so much better in this particular aspect, what did I do to deserve this? How did this happen? It feels good to win and this year, I enjoyed that feeling many times. The things I laid my hands on kept prospering. Academically, I smashed 2025! I graduated from the university with very good results.

This isn't even a small win. It is a gigantic one. Do you know what it means to graduate from university? Not just to graduate in one piece, but to graduate in flying colors! Of course, the grace of God helped me and again, I am grateful for that.

Now, 2025 also came with disappointments. It wasn't just a bed of roses. This year, I lost people. I do not want to dive into this, I just wish and pray that everyone will continue to enjoy life and that we will make it in life and smash our goals. This year, I wasn't able to achieve all my goals. At first, I beat myself up and blamed myself, but I realized I was being unfair to myself! I tried. I deserve a medal and I have crowned myself with one.

Thank you for reading.

Merry Christmas!

It's really a thing of joy that for seeing the end of this year.

There is a lot to be grateful for, it is not easy to have come this far.

Regardless of how terrible we might think the year has been, we always have things to be grateful for and it's great to see you grateful for the little wins, the gift of life, good health and more.

It's good to celebrate life ,no matter how small and big our wins are.
I know that sometimes we get frustrated by not meeting up the goals we set for ourselves but when we remember that some did not make it with us to the last quarter and even countless in the hospital, we would have no choice than to remain grateful and happy for the goodness we have enjoyed while trusting for a better 2026.
Enjoy the rest of the year
