There is no doubt that power supply is one vital need in our current world as almost everything we do either at home or work needs power, it helps us use our gadgets to make life easier and comfortable, with this knowledge it is sad that in this part of the world we still have to battle with erratic power supply, we can go days, weeks I even read about some people going months without power in this very country, which forces us to find alternative power source to keep life going, as relying on power provided by the government is unreliable.

The generator has become a high-profit business here due to our power supply situation, I also have a generator that helps us sustain and most importantly charge our devices and keep the heat away, a neighbor of mine just got the same brand and size I got a year back, and I was shocked at how much the price has doubled within the year apart, though the use of generator has been sustainable to some extent, the constant increase in the cost price combined with the high cost of fuel which is used to keep the generator running makes it pocket draining, also there is the problem of noise pollution, which can be very disturbing especially when the generator is due for service, not forgetting the air pollution as well as smoke is also part of it package while running. All of these make the generator not a favorable option for power choice, we just make use of it since it is what we can afford at the moment.

Normally, if asked to choose between a generator, normal power or Solar, the best choice would have been the normal power supplied by the government, because it is cheaper, and can carry all household gadgets without the fear of any getting damaged due to high current as it is adequately supplied within the normal range, also there is no noise and high maintenance cost, all we just do is pay for the amount of power used especially for us that use the prepaid meter, I doubt people in other countries where there is stable power supply will have any need for another option.

There is also the solar power source which is increasingly gaining adoption in my country since the removal of fuel subsidy, though it is very expensive but its benefits supersede the use of a generator, first, there is no noise or air pollution, it also doesn't regularly require high maintenance, just once in a long while check and cleaning, and if one gets a bigger panel it can carry most household appliances and lastly, doesn't need fuel as we live in a region where getting solar energy is assured throughout the year.

With my current reality, if I'm to choose my best option, Solar power source takes the lead. I wish to afford one for my household soon and become liberated from this erratic and financially draining situation of sourcing power to keep life moving.
