Communication is very vital to human beings, as social beings, we rely on all forms of communication to communicate with each other. With the added advantage of technological development, we have been able to develop different kinds of communication tools with amazing features which has improved our way and manner of communicating.
Gone are those days when we had to travel thousands of miles just to say "hi" to a relative or wait for days for response after sending letters through a post office. A lot of communication challenges has been eradicated, now we can easily contact our loved ones at ease. If I were to tell a kid about the challenges and troubles our forefathers experienced as a result of lack of communication tools, they wouldn't believe, it would sound like a made up story.
With all manner of technological tools available, we have now arrived at the era of digitalism. As fancy as this might sounds, every era tends to have its own challenges and difficulties, though it might not occur to everyone, that doesn't mean we are not experiencing it. The features of our various gadgets are commendable but then, we also have the issue of breach of privacy which a lot of people have had to pay heavy price for.

We have heard people's chats getting leaked and causing serious damage to their reputation. What about the issue of impersonation, anybody can pretend to be anyone using our digital gadgets. Realising this, a lot of us have become a lot cautious in the usage of our gadgets. The worst of it all is the issue of humans reliance on our smart devices, we have become so dependent on it that we have ignored all other forms of communication that can strengthen human bonds.
What if there is a solution to this, one that doesn't require spending millions to maintain our privacy. What if there is a form of communication that doesn't require a digital object? A natural form of communication with zero fees, that comes as natural as having a face to face interaction with a friend or colleague. This brings me to the subject of this prompt, what if we humans can communicate telepathically?
Well, this form of communication is considered a superpower among humans since it isn't something common or ordinary but what if we could all communicate with each other telepathically, wouldn't that be great? Thinking about this, I have a feeling it will improve interpersonal communication among the human species. It will weaken our dependent on our smart devices, since there is another way to communicate that doesn't require fees or energy. No one will have to worry about the content of their chats getting leaked or stored somewhere. We could easily communicate without any digital item serving as a middle man in our private conversation.

There is only one drawback in telepathic communication, it is proximity. From what I have learnt and seen in movies, to communicate telepathically, the receiver needs to be in range or within the sight of the sender. Knowing how everyone is separated by distance, it makes you wonder how effective telepathic communication will be.
Lets say we are able to solve the issue of proximity in telepathic communication and we are able communicate telepathically with people in far place, what about the issue of identification? I can easily pick on anyone and mimic their loved ones and they wouldn't be able to tell the difference. At least with our gadgets, there are various ways we could confirm the authenticity of the person we are communicating with.
