The betterment I seek.

It's been a while since I last posted here in the Hive-Naija community, and I'm not gonna lie, "I've missed this place," right now, I feel really great to be back. I was expecting some applause, but then "I'm gonna let that part slide and continue with the reason I'm here".

"Imagine I become the president of my nation" Growing up I can remember when my friends and I would be like "When I grow up I want to be this and that" Then it got to the last person and this person said "he wants to be become the president of Nigeria" we all stared at him for a while and nodded so the conversation can end. There is this thing about childhood dreams: it brightens our mood whenever we imagine those real but sometimes unrealistic things; we become so fascinated to the point that it will cause our faces to start developing a smile.

Talking about my nation, in case you don't know, "I'm a Nigerian." Looking at the economic state of my nation currently, there are so many things that need to be tackled, but then I'm gonna stick to the requirement of the question of the prompt. Two struggles I would tackle when I become the president of my nation. The first item on my list is to tackle the "issue of petrol" yeah! You might be wondering "why petrol" if there is one thing I've come to understand since I became an adult, it is the fact that the price of petrol has an effect on every other thing in the nation.

When you go to the local market and ask the price of goods, you'd notice that the price is on the high side "no doubt" and when you try to persuade these sellers about the price, the first they will say is that "things are expensive" and the second thing would be related to the "cost of transportation" and it is petrol the ease the movement of goods.

Enough about the "goods aspect", let's talk about the daily workers, those that have to leave their houses every day and transport themselves to work, the cost of transportation in my nation is very hectic; I know people always say that the citizens in my nation are quick to adapt to situations. But then the truth is, if they don't adapt, how do you expect them to live? When life doesn't throw roses at you, you'd be forced to learn how to walk on the green grasses till you can get roses to walk on. "So the reduction in the price of petrol would be my first priority".

The next on my bucket list for making Nigeria better would be "getting children off the streets." I believe in the popular phrase that "children are the leaders of tomorrow," and I believe in every child becoming something unique shortly. Children are the lights that light our walls. Often, it breaks my heart when I go out to places and see "our little leaders" hawking when they are supposed to be in school, learning like their peers.

I know all fingers aren't equal, and that is a major reason some children aren't going to school because their parents can't afford to pay their tuition fees. Who wants to be paying school fees when that person hasn't eaten?. So if I become the president of Nigeria, I'm gonna take every child off the streets and build a bright future in them by sending them to school. I still know that school isn't for everyone, though. So, for those whose schooling isn't part of them, I'm gonna provide them with skill acquisition to enable them to have a smooth life despite not being educated.

Growing up I thought Nigeria was gonna be better because of the things people were saying "Nigeria will be great again" These words I hold in my heart because if my nation gets better one day, I know deep inside of me "it gonna affect me and my family as well" so I was looking forward to that betterment people have been foreseeing but then here I am all grown and the nation isn't showing any atom of betterment rather its showing something else that I don't understand.

Currently, I know most children have been hearing the opposite of what I heard when I was younger, so I'm gonna build hope for them and show them that, indeed, "Nigeria can be better" someday, if not right now. But then they should learn to be the better Nigeria they want to see.

Honestly, petrol is more like the major cause of high cost of living. When petrol is up, transportation fare skyrockets and that extends to increase in everything

Yeah. It feels more like petrol controls everything in the nation.

These are two great things that actually need to be worked on and being our first female president will make Nigerian experience a different life. I can't wait to see these things happening so you have my vote in the next election.

Thank you for your vote. I promise to make Nigeria great again. If only the forces will accept change

I'll clap for you my love 🥹👏👏😁
Im going to vote for you ooo, Nigeria needs change.
The cost of transportation gets crazy expensive every single day, nawa

Yes, vote for the change you want to see in Nigeria, and that person is me bringing the change to you.

Thank you, dear.
