The last party I attended came with mixed feelings , even though there were lots of grilled chicken to eat, lots of fishes of different types, lots of native delicacies,, and lots more. There is a reason I haven't talked about this party , hahaha , but Hive Naija prompt this week said we should kindly talk about the last party we attended, our connection with the host , how it went, just everything per se, so you can feel like you was there with Nkem in that party ... Alright, let's get started ... shall we?
This party happened in my hometown. I never wanted to attend that party; my spirit didn't just want it, but hubby said I had to prepare and go with him, as his former boss invited him to his life celebration party. The man is a political man, so popular in my hometown. Whenever he passes, he does so with a convoy, with dozens of security men scattered all over him. That alone was enough to make me stay far from the man because I hate seeing guns up and down when it's not a movie I am watching lol, but no, hubby said Nkem must attend this party with him because he isn't going alone, and at the same time , he wanted to honor the invitation from his former boss for relationship sake in case of tomorrow.
Off we go...on reaching there, hmmm, security men at the gate will search you thoroughly; in fact, the guy was almost going beyond the boundary searching me, but let's leave that talk for another day, because what manner of search was that for a woman?
We settled down; there were thousands of invited guest over there, including the Governor of Enugu State. Men of calibers filled the event; many top politicians were present. It was more of eating, dancing, watching comedy, and just unwinding and being happy.
Some of these wealthy men don't look at money whenever they want to throw a party. What I saw there, millions of naira were spent hosting that party. Scroll up to my first image and see those full chickens, each person per full chicken; can you imagine that? Then, after I devoured my own share, I went to serve myself our native food. The breadfruit (ukwa) and croaker fish with chicken lap.
It was time to watch the cultural dance and even Odumeje the comedian. I fed my eyes, but something was a bit strange: the security men were almost restricting people from making videos , so when I noticed the little drama, which I had no idea the reason behind, I carefully hid my little Tecno phone inside my handbag and went again for another round of native delicacy.
I didn't even want much stress from the party; rather, I wanted to simply satisfy my belly and be alright. After all, where will I see another free, full chicken to eat?, lol? Well, I made sure to visit the chief chef, and the woman was kind enough to wrap one full chicken for me, which I took home.
We left before the party ended but trust those gate men to search my bag while going out, but I told the guy to rest and never show himself again. He nearly shouted at the sight of my full chicken takeaway.
What a party indeed, lol!
